Fernery is nestled inside the enchanting Grove of Narberth, a 5 AA Red Star small luxury hotel in the Pembrokeshire countryside.

Overseen by Executive Chef Douglas Balish, the Fernery restaurant, was awarded 4 AA Rosettes in 2022, making Grove of Narberth one of just 12 UK hotels with restaurants to hold such a status.

Head Chef – Full Time caret-down

An outstanding opportunity has arisen to join the Grove Narberth as Head Chef, working under the immensely talented Executive Chef Douglas Balish.

The Grove was awarded five stars and AA Hotel of the Year Wales 2019/20, establishing itself as one of the leading luxury hotels and restaurants in Wales. The Grove is set in the stunning Pembrokeshire countryside, looking onto the Preseli Hills.

The ‘Fernery’ restaurant holds 4 AA Rosettes offering 5-course and 8-course tasting menus four evenings per week, whilst the more relaxed casual dining, ‘Artisan Rooms’, is open for seven days per week. The use of our own extensive kitchen gardens is key to everything that is done at the Grove of Narberth, as well as promoting local suppliers and producers of the fantastic produce available in our region.

Our Executive Chef, Douglas Balish, is now looking for a Head Chef to join his team.

The Hotel Manager, Karen, is now looking for a passionate, dedicated and hands-on Restaurants and Bar Manager to lead the highly talented and award-winning restaurants team in an operational capacity.

Management Accountant – Central Office Position – Full Time caret-down

We are looking for a dedicated management accountant who is excited by detail and driven by numbers.

Seren is an award-winning and privately-owned hospitality group based in Pembrokeshire and the Gower Peninsular that includes the Grove of Narberth Hotel, Penmaenuchaf Hotel in Dolgellau, Coast Restaurant in Saundersfoot, Beach House Restaurant in Oxwich, Kiosk Café in Saundersfoot, and The Cornstore Café in Pembroke.  The group has experienced organic year-on-year growth since it began operating, and now employs over 150 staff.  There are ambitious growth plans for all businesses, along with growing the portfolio to include additional venues.

Our Finance Director is now looking for a passionate management accountant to join the finance team at our Pembrokeshire Head Office.

What we offer:

  • Salary of up to £35,000 based on a 5-day working week.

A successful candidate will ideally have the following: 

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and application.
  • Demonstrable history of producing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Previous detailed experience of Sage 50 Accounts
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Previously worked in a Finance team function is desirable but not essential
  • Performed purchase ledger, cashbook, cash management and reconciliation duties.
  • Very organised and the confidence and talent to ‘own’ various areas of Finance
  • A positive attitude and a flexible team player.
