A note on 2022 from Neil
“We entered 2022 with foreboding with the scale of the challenge we had set ourselves and a real sense of significant headwinds to battle through. A better life for our staff, hitting our numbers, making our future happen with major projects on the Gower and in Pembrokeshire. The ambition to add a venue or 2, and the endless pursuit for excellence as we strive to be the best we can be.
The list of our achievements is long and the team can be justifiably proud of all we have done together. Its been a year like no other!
Firstly, we changed the way we work and enhanced work life balance with a 4 day week, we have built an extension and refurbished the Beach House Restaurant. We completed the Grove of Narberth refurbishment whilst building a new housekeeping centre and site water treatment facilities. We ventured into the north, purchasing Penmaenuchaf hotel near Dolgellau.
It was a big year in Pembrokeshire.
Our beloved Grove won Independent Hotel of the Year at the prestigious industry Cateys Awards, alongside achieving its long term goal for 5 Red Stars and 4 AA Rosettes – it meant so much. Coast finally moved to 3 AA Rosettes after many years of hard work and investment. Our darling Tilly Morris won ‘World Waiter of the Year’ in Monaco and our most steadfast Karen Weisheit won ‘GM of the Future,’ along with a scholarship to Cranfield Management School.
Together we have confidently confronted the headwinds and substantially grown our venues, teams and the quality of our product, services and working environment for the benefit of all. We have all worked exceptionally hard and done a good job!
2023 will be a year of where we will focus more intently on the details, our impact on the environment and making things better. But, we do love a project, and so this effort now moves north into the mountains of Snowdonia.
A warmest thank you to all our dear customers, business partners and suppliers for always being by our side each step of our journey. We are determined to make 2023 a great one and together anything is possible.
