Seren is pleased to announce the launch of Lan y Môr, marking a new chapter for the Saundersfoot restaurant previously known as Coast.
From June 6, the restaurant will reopen under its new name, introducing a more relaxed and informal style of dining, guided by Seren Chef Director Hywel Griffith of the Michelin-starred Beach House Restaurant in Oxwich.
Lan y Môr, meaning “by the sea” in English, reflects both its location at Coppet Hall Beach and its ambition to create a welcoming coastal dining experience rooted in Welsh hospitality, local produce, and a strong sense of place.
A new team at the helm
Leading the kitchen is newly appointed Head Chef Gerwyn Jones, who joins Lan y Môr from Seren sister venue Grove of Narberth, where he has spent the past six years as part of the culinary team.
He is joined by Restaurant Manager Nikos Chatzitheodorakis, who will help shape the front-of-house experience as the restaurant moves into its new chapter.
Together, the team will work alongside Chef Director Hywel Griffith to deliver a menu and dining style centred on generosity, flavour, and accessibility.
A new style of coastal dining
Lan y Môr has been designed to offer a more casual and flexible dining experience. Guests are invited to enjoy a relaxed meal with friends and family, whether that means dipping into starters, sharing a selection of small plates, or enjoying larger main dishes.
The menu, developed by Hywel and Gerwyn, celebrates Welsh produce and coastal ingredients, with dishes that reflect both the land and sea surrounding Pembrokeshire. All ingredients are sourced sustainably and prepared with care and precision.
A shared vision
Chef Director Hywel Griffith said:
“The location at Coppet Hall Beach is the ideal setting for a thriving, fun-filled restaurant renowned for easy dining for all to enjoy. I can’t wait to support Gerwyn and Nikos as they open the doors at our new restaurant.”
